Windsurfing Youth Scheme
The certificates within the RYA Youth Windsurfing Scheme are a significant achievement. Instructors sign off each skill as you complete it and, once completed, the certificate can be of use in other areas of your study or activities such as PE at school or the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. The RYA runs a programme called OnBoard, which enables young people to start sailing and windsurfing through their school's PE activities. Here at Edgbaston Watersports we have been awarded OnBoard status and can offer this programme. The 2-day course follows the RYA Youth Windsurfing Scheme. With us you will be given in depth tuition by expert instructors and taught the basic elements of sailing in small, simple to use boats. The course aims to give you the confidence to progress and have fun with a sport that you can enjoy for years to come. Team15 is the wind surfing club revolution! A nationwide network of windsurfing clubs where young people aged 15 and under can get together every week to learn new windsurfing skills and have a laugh with their mates on the water. Since the same faces come back every week, you’ll definitely make new friends as well. Team15 offers young people two opportunities: to be part of the weekly club sessions and the chance to participate in the inter-club challenges. It’s your call whether you take part in one or both. But it’s the challenges that give Team15 its name. Each club can enter the inter-club challenges with a team of up to 15 people aged 15 and under; Team15!
