Fast-Track Instructor Course
12-week intensive programme focusing on activity with the essential skills needed to become an instructor.
Course details - Summer 2010
Course aim: To train the next generation of outdoor/watersports instructors to a high standard of working practice and personal skill at an achievable level.
This course will equip you with the skills needed to become an instructor in kayaking, canoeing, windsurfing and sailing. The course has been designed to ensure that the participants gain the confidence to enter into the industry with the knowledge that they have a solid grounding in adventure sports. For many this will be the first step and for others an opportunity to take it up a level. Course outline:
Course dates: Monday 28th June 2010 until 17th September 2010
This is a very practical/physically demanding course and should be entered into with positivity. There are some theory sessions but these are kept to the important information only. No waffle and no wasting time.
Acceptance on this course is subject to a pre-course selection application form and interview. Applicants must be over 18 years old.
Training will generally take place from Monday to Friday from 09:00 – 17:00. Weekends are generally free. We believe, as you should, that the brain and body can only take so much. Reflection and recuperation time is much needed. However, there may be some extra training available at a small cost for fuel, food and accommodation over some of the weekends.
